Personnel
Tony Brookes Managing Director Tony has worked in the Water and Waste Water Industry for over 30 years. During that time he has developed unrivalled knowledge of the processes and control systems required. Additionally, in the Tunnelling Industry, he has developed control & communications systems using leading edge technology. He has unrivalled & extensive Process, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Systems knowledge, which he is passing on to the rest of The Team.

Mick Dunn Senior Engineer Mick has a broad experience of Electrical Engineering from heavy machines & powder handling, to Hazardous Area applications, and for the last 20+ years in the Water and Waste Water industry covering design, engineering and commissioning. His present role is as a consultant to the rest of The Team.

Gary Hooper Senior Design Engineer Gary graduated with a BEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and has worked almost exclusively for nearly 20 years in the Water and Waste Water industry, as a Project Design Engineer. His expertise in Industrial Computers and Communications applications is vital to the rest of The Team. Already a Member of the IET he is working towards professional registration as a Chartered Engineer.

Kevin Vincent Project Manager Kevin is our most experienced qualified electrical technician who has over 20 years experience in electrical installations in the Water and Waste Water industry and is currently our senior electrical installation project manager with responsibility for the Site Teams.

Darminder Rainu Design Engineer and CAD Manager Darminder is an up and coming prize winning graduate with a BEng Honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering who has proved a most useful engineer and has responsibility for electrical installation design and supervision of the CAD section.

Chris Davies CAD Operator Chris graduated from Plymouth University in 2008 with a BSc Honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Systems. He is currently responsible for most of the CAD drawings produced in house, updating the company website, and also for organising the stock for the stores & Engineers.

Adam Smith Engineer and Safety Officer Adam has recently joined The Team and comes from a marine background in the Royal Navy where he was a Petty Officer and Leading Marine Engineer. His qualifications include a Marine Systems Engineering Degree and an Institute of Leadership and Management Certificate. Before joining The Team, he gained qualifications in BS7671:2008 Electrical Installations and Inspection Reporting.

Debbie Radford Office Manager Debbie has in depth experience in supervision, accurate and efficient accountancy and administrative support to the company. She is a qualified bookkeeper with distinctions at the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, and our ISO9001 Internal Auditor. Included amongst her many duties are the Company Payroll, CIS payments and all Management Accounts including VAT. Additionally her responsibilities include all Company HR aspects, and supervision of other office staff, and lastly is a First Aider.

Control Systems
WUCS have been trading since 1999. As the company name
suggests the business was originally formed to provide specialist Electrical
and Control system solutions to the Water and Wastewater Industry.
Since its formation the company’s activities have
broadened considerably to include a wide range of Electrical and Engineering
services to serve the; Domestic, Commercial, and Industrial sectors, in addition
to the Water Utility Business.
Electrical
Engineering
A prerequisite for offering Electrical Engineering
Services, is the requirement to employ competent and qualified Electrical
Engineers.
To this end WUCS have considerable “in house” resources,
with Engineers capable of undertaking work in the fields of: Power Distribution
System design and installation, Process Control system support, PLC and HMI
programming including support of various Industrial networks, Hazardous Area
Electrical Installation Works within the Water Industry.
Hazardous Area
Electrical Works
WUCS
is NICEIC approved for the design, installation, inspection, and testing of
electrical installations within the Hazardous Areas of wastewater treatment
works or pumping stations.
All
such works are carried out in accordance with BS60079 which covers electrical
equipment and installations in Hazardous Areas.
Equipment
supplied and installed within Hazardous Areas will be ATEX approved.
All
works undertaken within these Hazardous areas are carried out by CompEx 9/10
qualified technicians.
Packaged
Plants
Packaged
Plants can be designed and constructed to suit particular customer
requirements. The types of plant manufactured may include “skid mounted units”,
“Containerised units” and “Modular systems”.
Packaged
plants can be supplied to the: food industry, manufacturing, water industry and
wastewater industry.
All
packaged plants will be designed, constructed, mechanically tested, electrically
tested, functionally tested and will be subject to a final customer FAT, before
despatch from our premises.
Site Installation and Commissioning can be offered if required.
